We have a great team of staff here at Primacy! From our butchers serving on the counters to our talented chef & cooks, the great team serving in The Village Tearoom and everyone else behind the scenes. Everybody working together is what makes the wheels run smoothly. Over the next few weeks we are going to introduce some of the team members and share a little about each of their roles. First up we have the lovely Nicki from The Village Tearoom...
Nicki is the welcoming face that greets you when you visit our Village Tearoom at the Primacy Food Village. As well as ensuring the Tearoom runs smoothly and our customers are happy, she also makes a great coffee and serves every customer with a smile!
Q1) Hi Nicki, can you tell us what your role in the Tearoom is and how long you have worked at Primacy?
I have worked in the Tearoom for almost 7 years. I am the Coffee Shop manager and my role is to ensure the smooth running of the Coffee Shop on a day to day basis and maintain its high standards.
Q2) Tell us what a typical day looks like for you.
Every day is busy! We start the day setting up the display, take breakfast orders and move on to lunch service before moving into Afternoon Tea time which is extremely popular... a great treat at a great price. No two days are ever the same.
Q3) What do you enjoy most about your job?
I enjoy meeting lots of new people but I also really enjoy catching up with our regular customers. Its great to see families with babies now coming in as older kids for the kids meals.
Q4) Primacy Meats is well known for offering fresh, local and seasonal produce. Does the tearoom share the same ethos?
Absolutely the Tearoom shares the same ethos. All meat, fruit and veg comes from the Farm Shop. Local produce is very important. Our Tearoom also produces a great range of ready made meals for the Farmshop shelves as well as a range of accompaniments. If a customer enjoys lunch in our Tearoom they can then often purchase it in the Farmshop to take home.
Q5) The Village Tearoom always has a brilliant range of fresh desserts and traybakes - do you have a sweet tooth? If so, which of the sweet treats do you recommend?
I don't have a sweet tooth but can always be tempted by a nice light and tasty Jammy Joey!
Q6) Finally, in 3 words how would you describe the Village Tearoom?
I'd describe the Village Tearoom as family friendly, welcoming
