Roast Beef is a treat for all the family... Find out how we do it!
For a Sunday lunch - make this your centrepiece, surrounded by all the usual trimmings of roasties, veg, Yorkshire pudding and gravy.
To serve 6 adults you will need:
1.5 /2kg piece rib of beef or similar cut - ask on of our butchers if you are not sure!
3cloves garlic, sliced
salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
4 tablespoons Dijon mustard
Our Method:
Take your beef out of the fridge 30 minutes before it goes into the oven.
Make slits all over the roast with a small knife. Insert slivers of sliced garlic. Season the roast with salt and pepper, then spread generously with mustard.
Preheat your oven to 240°C/475°F/ gas 9.
Pop your roasting tray in the preheated oven and the heat down to 200°C/400°F/gas 6.
Cook your beef for for 1 hour 15 minutes for well done, Cook for 1 hour for medium beef or 45/50 mins for medium-rare.
Rest your meat for 10 -15 minutes. We cover ours with layer of tinfoil and a tea towel to keep the heat in as we make our gravy!
